As you’d expect from the first BlackBerry with a touchscreen, the Torch 9860 has a high quality screen and a good level of build quality. It looks fantastic, although without the keyboard it isn’t immediately recognisable as a BlackBerry phone like most other models are. Other good things about getting a Blackberry Torch 9860 12 month contract include that the interface is designed well, it seems to provide a strong signal strength (including 3G internet speed) and the messaging options are very good (as you’d expect from a RIM phone). If these are the features you’re interested in then you certainly won’t be disappointed after buying a Blackberry Torch 9860 12 month contract.
As always, there are a few downsides to the Torch 9860 that are worth mentioning. The BB OS certainly doesn’t match up to Android or iOS, which is a shame but somewhat inevitable considering the time and effort that have gone into Google and Apple’s systems. The keyboard can be difficult to use, making this a phone that isn’t suitable for the fan of the regular BlackBerry. If speed of texting and emailing are most important to you then the Torch 9860 probably isn’t the phone for you. Other problems include issues with the GPS, a relatively high price (on release) and a browser with a number of problems.
